Jewellery can have a positive impact on society. When businesses in the supply chain act responsibly and demonstrate their commitment to making a positive impact, this can:
✦ Incentivise consumers to support a brand that demonstrates their own values
✦ Enhance a company's access to finance opportunities
✦ Improve recruitment and retention of the best staff
✦ Be part of societal change
Edward Johnson is now using his experience, contacts and knowledge of the global gem and jewellery industry to celebrate and support businesses who mine and make jewellery.
The goals are:
✦ To be a force for change
✦ To support businesses in acting responsibly by improving their ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance)
✦ To support economic development all along the gem and jewellery supply chain
Jewellery provides economic and social development opportunities globally for some of the least advantaged communities, including those who are responsible for mining the minerals used.
Powered by almost three decades experience in the global gems and jewellery industry, I aim to work collaboratively with those who act responsibly and focus on people and planet, as well as profit.
